Witchcraft of a different flame!

Must love music:

Jeffrey Khaner holds (last I heard) the prestigious Julius Baker chairmanship at the illustrious Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. He is, perhaps, the best flautist in the world.

This video stops abruptly. I was inclined to apologize for that but I thought the better of it. It seems to me that the unexpected cessation leaves one longing for more ... as it should.

PMT:
The Irish played clarinet in her high school
marching band 1981-84, but she recently confided that she has always wanted to play the flute. Ever the loving mate, I bought her a Gemeinhardt fir her birthday last month. Now we'll have to spring for lessons. Oh well, she can lull me in my dotage.

p.s.

The original impetus for my posting a video of a magical flute piece was inspired by the fact that I knew that Kathleen listens primarily to classical music while she paints.

WM, if you are interested in finding other wonderful pieces like this, search for works by Jeffrey Khaner. Likewise, you might search for works by (my personal favorite) Emmanuel Pahud. He is the principal flautist for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Another amazing flautist is Jeanne Baxtresser who was formerly principal flautist for the New York Philharmonic.

Love Emmanuel Pahud...they play him a lot on KDFC...Haven't been able to paint for over 2 months now. Long story, another time.

I had sort of lost interest in the CW blog too, lot of the same ole thing. My demon is currently FB...it has me hooked but keeps me somewhat sane right now. Have made some very interesting friends in Scotland, Australia, Canada and a terrific pastry chef down your way at the Univ of Alabama...we talk every week and I just sent him some family recipes. He's baking up 2 of the cookie recipes for the ESPN guys at the game next week.He is putting together some of his favorites to send to me...I really want his recipe for Johnnie Walker Pecan pie...just hopefully broken down into less than the 50 pies he just made. LOL

Virtual farming and cooking...and taking care of ailing people...life simplified

I am glad you are back with us and maybe we can stir up a few brain cells among us...

Will check in more often again to see what is up and thanks so much for the music videos...the classical is playing in the background as I type...:o)
