Gdansk

Greetings from Gdansk, Poland,

Sorry for so few posts so far , the shipboard Internet is a joke.

The stops have been nice and I have some good pictures. I only have a few minutes now so this will be short. I will have more time tomorrow in Copenhagen so I will try to catch up then.

Hope you all are doing well.

Ciao!

PMT, So that is what Gdansk looks like. You may not have had time to post a lot, but your visit to Poland has prompted me to look up how to pronounce Ga-dance-sk. Did you have an opportunity to see a folk dance group perform a lively mazurka, or have you been clapping and jumping around yourself?

By the time you read this you may already be on your way to Copenhagen. Will you have time to visit Tivoli? I have very fond memories of Tivoli and the drunken Norwegian sailors, who tried to ply my young sister with large glasses of Carlsberg. I was 35 years old at the time, so they probably figured (correctly) that I wouldn't fall for their nonsense, but they seemed to have high hopes for Sis. Luckily, we had a train to catch (see next paragraph) although not quite as early as we told them we did.

We were also very impressed with Copenhagen because while we were waiting for our evening train, we went to see "Saturday Night Fever" at a theater across from the train station. It was in English, subtitled in Danish, so Sis and I understood the Brooklynese nuances that were lost in the Danish translation. BUT, that wasn't why we were impressed. What we liked were the alcoholic drinks that were served at the concession stand. Now THAT is a civilized country!

PMT...Been lurking and looking...been a tad busy the last few days and will be for the next couple of weeks...but I am always checking to see if you can kick the ship's computer into running...

This is a great photo and I love to say G-dansk...it also makes me think of two Russian cities...Minsk and Pinsk...fun!

I am hoping that you and Rich are just having the time of your lives visiting such amazing places. Just soak it up and enjoy. I would still like to hear about your Night of the Tsars...just sounds like a fabulous food and vodka evening!

Here's to continued good weather and the wind at your back...
