White Nights

WOW! Check out the view from our cabin veranda!

Wouldn't you know it? The sky finally has cleared as we depart St. Petersburg.
Isn't that sky stunning? I am listening to the title track from Charles Lloyd's Jumping The Creek. He is a semi-legendary jazz musician who records for a German label that has produced some very cutting-edge jazz and classical recordings over the years.

PMT ,
In the normal course of events, I envy no
man. In fact, most days I pity anyone who isn't me. Today, I not only envy you, I'd like to be you. Words like spectacular and awesome cross my mind. Party on , dude. What you are doing would be the experience of a lifetime for a fucking plebe like myself. I can't thank you enough for sharing it. Don't even think about stopping, though
Mistress Universe is currently whipping my ass, but this wheel will turn, as it always does.
Thank you for sharing.

Good Evening PMT, or is it morning where you are?

I'm sorry I haven't been checking in here very much. Fred and I are in the midst of trying to sell the 1992 Chevy Silverado pickup. We are pretty sure we have a buyer who will be coming by tomorrow and he and Fred will make a visit to a local mechanic. The truck is in excellent condition, but the possi-buyer wants to have it get a quick once over. If that goes according to plan, we will be heading down to Modesto to put in our order for the new 2010 Honda Insight hybrid. 45 MPG when you live as far away from everything as we do, can't be sneezed at. We'll keep our Odyssey too...gotta have some place for Fred to carry the golf clubs.

It is too bad that the Hermitage was a rush job. It sounds like familiarity breeds contempt if you are a tour guide in a world famous museum. Are you finding that Russians, in general, are friendly or not? One of my Swedish relatives who travels a lot for business has said that Russians as a whole are not very amiable.

The men's ballet company is "Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo". Not surprisingly, they are not from Monte Carlo and I don't think they ever were. They are based in New York City. I hope your evening at the ballet didn't remind you of the "Trocks".

Oh yeah...$600.00 for Kirov tickets?? Nobody is THAT good!

Keep sending photos and travel comments. I am reading even if I haven't had much time to post.
